• Slow your walk-by. A half-second of unhurried eye contact is often all a hesitant man needs.
• Look back. Glance once, look away, then look back with a soft smile. That second look is a green light most men recognize instantly.
• Put your phone down. A woman who's present and relaxed is magnetic. A woman on her phone is invisible.

Jess went back to that coffee shop. This time she sat at the counter instead of the corner. When a man settled in two stools away, she looked up and smiled.

He said hello. They talked for two hours.
