He's not impressed by what you think he is.
May 31, 2026Can I share something that might sting a little — but in the best way possible?
A lot of us learned to date in performance mode.
We learned to play it cool, be a little hard to read, seem a little unavailable. We learned to curate the highlight reel — the travel photos, the designer bag, the perfectly filtered selfie. We learned that being "a lot" was somehow a personality.
And somewhere along the way, we started performing at men instead of just... connecting with them.
Here's what I've seen in my work — and what men themselves will tell you if you ask honestly:
The performance is exhausting. And it's not actually attracting the man you want.
The good ones — the emotionally available, marriage-minded men you're actually looking for — aren't impressed by the things you think they are.
They're not keeping score of your follower count. They're not moved by how hard you play to get. They're not falling for the "I'm a lot, take it or leave it" energy.
What actually lands?
- Warmth. A woman who is genuinely kind — to him, to others, to herself.
- Ease. A woman who doesn't make him feel like he's constantly being tested or evaluated.
- Realness. A woman who eats the steak, laughs without filtering it, and shows up as herself — not a curated version.
- Clear communication. A woman who says what she means, instead of dropping hints and waiting to see if he cares enough to decode them.
None of this means lowering your standards. It means releasing the exhausting performance of trying to seem a certain way — and trusting that who you actually are is more than enough.
The right man isn't looking for impressive.
He's looking for real.
Which of these resonates most with you — or which one are you still working on?
Warmly,
KC
